Description:
This Mosaic knitting class, a follow up to the 101 class, offers more challenges including the use of multiple colored skeins of yarn. Choose from two projects: The Shift Cowl or The Night Shift Shawl. Both will be knitted flat.
This Mosaic knitting class, a follow up to the 101 class, offers more challenges including the use of multiple colored skeins of yarn. Choose from two projects: The Shift Cowl or The Night Shift Shawl. Both will be knitted flat.
- Class 1: The Mosaic knitting techniques will be reviewed as well as how to choose the best yarn for Mosaic knitting contrasts. We will then pick out yarns for the project; review the pattern and begin knitting.
- Class 2: The Mosaic pattern finishing techniques will be reviewed. Problem solving and helpful hints will be discussed.
Prerequisite Skills: Previous Mosaic 101 Class attendance preferred but not mandatory. Basic knitting skills (knit & purl, increase, decrease, casting on, binding off)
Materials:
- Yarn choices to be discussed in 1st class
- Cowl includes 3 Skeins DK yarns (recommend Uneek Cotton & Cascades Ultra Pima Cotton)
- Shawl includes 6 Skeins Worsted yarns ( recommend Cascades 220 Wave)
- Needles:
- Cowl # 5 - 6 Knitting Needle (24” -30” circular needles)
- Shawl: #8 Knitting Needle (40” circular needles)
- Misc.: Stitch Markers, and Counter
Class Size: Maximum of six
Cost: $30.00 for 2 sessions, 4 hours total of instruction (includes one pattern)
