Description:
Short rows are when you stop mid row, turn your work and knit back.  They are used to put gussets in socks heels, darts in sweaters, a slopes on a shoulder, or create designs by inserting shapes.  When those shapes are different colors - the creative options are endless.  They are easy to do, but require using a special technique to prevent a hole in your work at the turn.

In this class we will focus on using short rows to make colorful designs.  The three examples shown above will be discussed.  We will deconstruct the patterns and explore knitting tips that will make staying accurate easy and simple.  We will also talk about color - picking colors with enough contrast to highlight patterns, letting variegated yarns make color changes, and how to add and blend in colors.

Be prepared to experiment and make stunningly beautiful projects.
