Alpaca is a silky fiber 5 to 8 times warmer than wool. Some of the throws available through Knitty Gritty are a blend of alpaca and fine merino wool, silky soft and warm. We carry some of the Southwestern throws at a ratio of 55% alpaca and 45% merino wool. Some of the latest throws to come in at a more affordable price are at 50% alpaca, 35% merino, and 15% acrylic, still silky soft and warm.
